Course Access: Internet, Email, CWL, WebCT

ITServices offers e-mail accounts, dial-up Internet access and Web hosting to UBC students, faculty, staff and the community via its Netinfo and Interchange services. To access the internet, go to: https://web.interchange.ubc.ca.

If you require high speed internet access for the teaching of your course, you can be reimbursed for up to half of your monthly cost. Submit your invoice with attached monthly charges to OLT’s Finance Clerk as required.

You will need a Campus-Wide Login (CWL) to access your WebCT course. CWL is UBC’s custom single sign-on application designed to give you access privileges to many secure applications on campus, using the same login id and password. As campus applications begin the switch to CWL’s authentication service, your CWL account and password will replace the many different ones in use. To create your CWL, go to: http://cwl.ubc.ca/

Once you have created your CWL, contact your web programmer or OLT’s Helpdesk and ask to be added to your course as Instructor or Designer. Once this is confirmed, go to the WebCT login page and login with your CWL. You should see your course on your WebCT list. Contact the OLT Helpdesk if you have any problems.
