These are a few of the behaviors that cause concern and angst among many a caring instructor.
Handling these situations with care and concern for all of the learners involved takes considerable time and patience. It may help to learn about the strategies that others have found effective.

From time to time, issues come up that may concern you. It is advisable, where you think it appropriate, to consult with Marianne Schroeder or Cindy Underhill, or your Department Head on issues related to serious concerns with regard to a student’s progress or behavior in the course.
UBC’s policies around academic conduct apply to all students in distance education courses. However, it is sometimes in the interpretation of policy where discussion and consultation is beneficial.
